Podcast - Episode 39 - Disaster Resilience

You Are Here Because You Believe Birth Is About Making Mums Too.

Interview with Jaime Farrant

As a Newborn Mother, you are being invited to reinvent yourself because when a baby is born so is a mother, and the birth of a mother can be more intense than childbirth. You'll learn how to find peace and joy in the first 40 days after birth and how your postpartum experience can change your life.

Jaime has worked for over 20 years as a community development practitioner facilitating cultural change around social justice, environmental concerns and climate change.

Jaime trained in the UK specializing in drama and working with ‘at-risk’ youth. Upon arriving in Perth in 2001 she began working in the community sector providing programs within prisons, schools, community agencies and on the streets. Her work then expanded to programs training others in how to engage and work effectively in these settings and she began to take an interest in systemic issues of injustice exploring what it would take to really have a ‘world that worked’.

After reading Bill McKibben’s ‘The Terrifying New Math’ Jaime realized that addressing Climate Change needed to be a central priority. From that point on her work has sought to highlight the interconnections between social justice and Climate echoing Naomi Klein’s statement that ‘to change everything, we need everyone’.

On The Podcast:
