How embracing imperfection led to a booked-out doula business
I chat with Newborn Mothers graduate Ashley Wilson from Phlox Postpartum. Together we discuss Ashley's background in yoga and Ayurveda, how she started a postpartum care service, and the unique challenges of working with families. At the core of this conversation, we explore how to help people feel empowered in the work of mothering.
Instagram is not a business plan
Hands down, the biggest worry many of my students have when launching their own business is social media.
Online Postpartum Care
Ria Keller is a postpartum doula, chef, early years’ teacher and passionate cold-water swimmer. She is originally from Germany and now lives in Northern Ireland with her partner and her two sons. Ria works with mothers during the last stretch of their pregnancy, throughout postpartum and later stages of motherhood. She has a special interest in “Zwischen”, which is a German word for “in-between” and describes the time of a woman`s life where she is becoming a new self while simultaneously is being asked to let go of the old. Ria is offering mothers a deep holding, she is walking alongside them while they refine their sense of self and reconnect to their intuition and roots.
How To Launch A Magazine
Natalie Stokell lives on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. She has a successful placenta encapsulation business and has encapsulated over 800 placentas. A few years ago she started a passion project that has turned into a profitable heart-centred side hustle - a local print magazine about all things baby on the Sunshine Coast. The magazine encourages a sense of community and collaboration amongst Sunny Coast locals - for businesses and readers alike.
